Yankees vs. Blue Jays Post Game Recap 8/11

The Yankees were able to make it four straight wins on the road trip by beating the Blue Jays 5-2.

Ivan Nova who has been awful since the All-Star break may have found his old self in picking up his 11th win of the season. Nova was able to go 7.2 innings allowing five hits, one walk, and two runs. The biggest thing for Nova in this start was he located his slider and curveball using them both to get 9 of his 10 strikeouts.

The final five outs went smoothly for the Yankees, as Robertson got the final two outs in the 8th, and Soriano pitched a 1-2-3 9th to earn his 28th save of the year.

Derek Jeter with another multi-hit game going 2 for 5 was able to reach the 150 hit mark for the season, and also knocked in 35th RBI.

Casey McGehee had his best game in pinstripes going 2 for 4 while hitting a three-run homerun in the 4th inning, and scoring a run in the 6th inning.

Catcher Chris Stewart continues to hit when he plays going 1 for 4 hitting his 7th double of the season.

Yankees will look for the sweep over the Blue Jays, as Phil Hughes (11-9, 4.10) will face J.A. Happ (0-1, 6.35).
