Darrelle Revis Not Expected to Holdout
Jets got good news that All-Pro
Cornerback Darrelle Revis will be reporting to camp in Cortland on
Thursday, as it was hinted by Revis at mini camp that he maybe
holding out for the second time in three seasons.
If Revis didn’t show up to camp his
wallet would have definitely felt it, as he would have forfeited a
one million dollar reporting bonus, and would have been fined 30k per
day.
The 4 year $46 million dollar deal was
mostly front loaded with Revis only earning $13.5 million over the
next two seasons, as the deal was believed to be a band-aid contract
and that it would be addressed again this off-season.
Revis is one of if not the best
Cornerback in the NFL, and Jets will need him him to anchor the
secondary if they hope to get back to having one of the more dominant
defenses in the NFL, and back into the playoffs in the AFC.
